Hi Prospective Doodle Family,

Welcome to our site and our lives.  We are so happy you've found us and that you are beginning your search for your new family member.  I remember my search, many years ago, for my dream dog, an Australian Labradoodle and I was so nervous and excited all at the same time.  All I knew was I needed a non-shedding pet for my children that had just been diagnosed with pet allergies.  My son's eye's kept swelling up and my daughter was a mess the more she played with our cats.  If my son went anywhere near our rescued Rot (oh I have photos of my son as an infant next to "Harley" and I need to dig those up and add them here) back on track, well we noticed my son's face swollen after being around our dog.  I took both of my children to the doctors and they confirmed allergies.  I sat there in a fog, feeling guilty for having my animals and asking myself how I could have not realized they, my young children, were suffering because of them.  I had so much anxiety because I needed a dog in my room and in my children's rooms at night while we sleep so what began as a simple search turned into something else.  In my searching, I learned of the doodle and how many were service dogs for children with diabetes.  At the time, my father and my best friend were just diagnosed and I knew I had to adopt a doodle.  I looked everywhere for rescues and found none.  At the time I did have 3 rescued pets so I felt adopting a real multi-generation Australian Labradoodle was necessary and needed.  I had to make sure our new pet could be in the home, with my allergic children, and the rest is history.

Psst...I can ramble so for the cliff notes version follow the bold print.

First, some really important facts:  We breed for miniature multi-generation Australian Labradoodle ranging in fifteen to thirty-three pounds, with curly wool coats, wavy fleece coats and some straighter hair coats.  All of our doodles so far have been non-shedding and not a single one has ever caused any of my family allergies.  We breed for all beautiful colored coats including:  Chocolates, Blacks, Tans, Cremes, Apricots, Reds, Phantoms, Merles, and Partis.  Very soon I will show photographs of each look and explain them but give me some time...this site is no easy task and I'm doing it all myself.  Honestly, that's they way I want it too.

Now, please relax and know we don't want your deposit, your filled out questionnaire, or any of that stuff.  We do have a questionnaire but it's not mandatory for you to fill out in order for you to reach us. We want to get to know you, have a personal conversation, a heart-to-heart text, or some emails back and forth so we know where our precious angels are going to live and thrive. That's it! I'm sure you've seen those questionnaires on websites that you fill out and mail in with your deposit without talking to anyone.  *Months ago I typed this:  "Even tonight I wondered if I should make one of those "application + deposit forms" despite how it turns my stomach to fill one out."  After I typed that I decided to make a questionnaire for families that would like to understand the things to think about and discuss when thinking of adopting a new family member.  These questions, more or less, get the conversation going and help a family understand the things a committed breeder is going to want to know.  The reason they want to know is so they can help you decide if adopting a puppy is the right choice for you, at this time in your life.  It's a big commitment that shouldn't be taken lightly.  We love our doodles and we love our families, we will do everything we can to help support them throughout their lives because things can and will pop up, issues will need to be addressed and the better prepared we are working together the easier it will be to resolve issues.  The bottomline is this, if a doodle that we place with you doesn't workout, for all the many reasons that exist, we will accept that doodle back and prepare it for it's new home.  We won't be angry, we won't look at you sideways, and we will support you and your decision to bring back your doodle.  If it doesn't workout we don't want you to feeling obligated to keep a pet you don't want.  However, when a pet is returned we do not give any money back, under any circumstance, because there are people that didn't realize the amount of responsibility required for a new pet.  For this reason, we like to discuss all the things you may have to deal with having a dog as a pet and for you to fully understand, we allow you to visit and "hang-out" with the parents and your potential family member, and we encourage you to wait if you are having second thoughts.  There is no rush in adopting a new family member.  Don't EVER let a breeder tell you that they have one puppy left and you need to get that deposit in NOW...because that's just rubbish.  There is no rush, there are plenty of puppies, plenty of good breeders, and every season we have new puppies being delivered by the doodle stork.

Just a text, email, or call and a visit. Maybe some skyping too. The bottom-line, I really like to answer your questions. We want to know you on a personal level. This is not a sales transaction, we don't "SELL" puppies; however, we do interview for adoption. There is a difference. This may not even be the right time for you to adopt and you can pick my brain to discover that. Plus, you will get the honest truth. No sugar coating at Sugar Pine Doodles....yeah, that was kinda funny....lol

Yes, you can visit.  You can stay all day, hang out, and get licked to death, chewed on, and overwhelmed with which puppy should you select . Think of us as your puppy petting zoo.

We are very transparent.Just check on Facebook, ask questions on our wall and really investigate how our families feel about our puppies temperament, personalities, looks, health, and all the really important things you want to know.  When you invest your time, your heart, your brain (doing all the online investigating), your patience, your love and energy into a new pet it's scary, we know. The longer I do this the more I hear and see the crazy stories of pet adoption. No, it's not all bad, but when it is....yikes, some of you have had your heart torn out. On a happier note, we strive to bring unconditional love, to your family, in the form of an exceptional doodle.

Now, we aren't perfect....we don't answer the phone on the first ring, we try really hard to keep up on the emails and text messages. The best way to reach me is to text me at   2 0 9 - 2 1 7 - 7 1 1 6 or email spdoodles@me.com

Are you wondering who we are?
Well, we are wondering the same about you. We hope you are looking to adopt a pet from a family that LOVES dogs. I mean unconditionally loves them. I have to admit we had a dream of many dogs, open space, pine trees, and cuddling up to a warm fire with our furry companions. It was a dream in the far depths of my mind when I lived in the Bay Area. I kept dreaming of living in the mountains, raising dogs, wearing an apron, making homemade delicacies, canning my garden vegetables, and rock climbing the biggest mountains. I can dream, can't I? Well, I've definitely achieved the dog part with the apron. :) The rest is still in progress and yes I want it even more because of Pinterest. (in case you haven't see or heard of http://www.pinterest.com you must check it out. I even have a pinterest Sugar Pine Doodles board. )

We are located in the beautiful Amador County in California.  At just around 4000 feet, among beautiful pine trees including Sugar Pines, we do occasionally get snow. We are centrally located and close to Sacramento International Airport and a little further from Oakland and San Francisco International Airport.  Now get ready for our intro...............

About Us: Sugar Pine Doodles is a small in home breeder located in Amador County. We are a family that lives with our pets in our home. We both grew-up breeding dogs, we bred labs and cocker spaniels, and we have invested years educating and studying Australian Labradoodles. Now, we may have a huge whelping box at the foot of our bed and doodles sleeping on our floor but it's the only way we know how to raise amazing puppies. We feed our pets the best dog food, lot's of treats, homemade dog food, and many raw fruits and veggies. We thoroughly test our pets, we only get our pets from a trustworthy breeders, and we are constantly learning how to be the best pet owners and breeders. We believe in crate training, positive training, and tons of love and affection. We allow our pets to sit on the couch on our laps or on the seat, sleep at the foot of our bed, go everywhere in our SUV, and our family's have all become guardian homes and everyone loves their doodles. Currently, we are learning to train service dogs and plan on becoming service & therapy dog trainers. Our first goal is to train a current puppy to smell peanuts and warn our son if there are peanuts in his food and even in a room.

What can you expect from your Sugar Pine Doodle's puppy?  Your puppy's wonderful parents are our personal pets or are personal pets of our guardian home's pets that are loved, trained, tested, adored, and part of a real family, living in a home not a kennel. Their coat will be allergy friendly and low to non-shedding. In fact, all our doodles have very soft, shiny and not frizzy coats.  Our breeding stock is Multi-Generation Australian Labradoodle that goes back over 15 generations from Rutland Manors, Tegan Park, and Darby Park Doodles.  As a result of professional breeding, our coats are impeccable.  Please compare our photos to most and you will see why our doodles are so special.   Our families have pointed this out to us time and again and they keep telling me to write that in my posts (so here is it families).  Many of our past puppies are working service and therapy dogs helping the lives of many live a more fulfilling existence.

Please know this, Australian Labradoodles were bred specifically for service and therapy work. They were....and I think the guy that did it now regrets it because this combination is sooooo popular. We all regret something but I don't get how he feels bad about this amazing combination! The way I describe it is this: Our Doodles (I really can only speak for our dogs because I'm really not an expert but definitely close lol) so back to our Doodles, they love the human connection. What I mean is they want eye contact, they understand when your happy or sad and they want to be close and share their life with you. They have a sense of humor and know that something is funny and they want to laugh with you. They are intensely curious with a drive for understanding the things you spend your time doing. They love following your schedule and the daily rhythms of your life. They are very social yet protective. If you are around someone that you're not comfortable with they will see it and possibly growl if they see your body language or expressions as scared. They love to let you know when someone is home by barking but they only bark for a reason and when they see that you have heard them then they behave based on how they've been trained. You can train your Australian Labradoodle puppy to be a watch dog or not. How you ask? Attention and rewards, aka, treats.

Oh yeah, training...they are so smart and trainable because they were bred specifically for that purpose. Yes, this is a very good thing because a well trained dog is better than sweet tea with some Georgia peach slices, right? However, the flip side is this.....the truth, yes, I'm always too honest and maybe someday I'll grow up and learn but until then here is the secret: Doodles are so smart that if you don't learn the basic principles of boundaries, the basic command of "off" or "no" and you let your puppy do as it pleases it will train itself. Yep, I said it, the doodle is out of the bag. Now, let's ponder this for a moment...you....no not you because you would never do that. Let's say the really sweet doodle owner, let's their puppy jump up on the couch and they don't correct it. Months go by, the really sweet doodle owner doesn't want their grown doodle to jump up on its own. Do you think it will be easy to tell that doodle no and it will listen? See how smart you are...I knew you know the answer. Now, your puppy will be extremely trainable and very intelligent. Just remember, you are training your new pet 24 hours a day. Yes, those 15 minute sessions are absolutely necessary but the rest of the day matters just as much.  Therefore, crate training, socialization, and lot's of patience is a must! We do understand your concerns so some Good news, we are creating a helpful training & grooming section to our site. Coming soon for you to learn and enjoy :)

I know you're wondering what comes with your puppy, right? I wish we could provide the Luis Vuitton puppy carrier but it's just not practical because they would grow out of it too quickly....bahahaha, no designer bags here ladies. This is a new puppy which is better than any designer bag for that matter. Now, I do say this with great pride: Our puppies come with pretty much everything else. Yes, we just add it in the price and we still keep your puppy investment right in line with the top Australian Labradoodle Breeders. Why would we do that? Well, it's simple. We are awesome..... no really, we just want this to be stress free and enjoyable. We want it more like a puppy holiday then your run of the mill pick-a-pet experience. Yes, we do take time to shop and it can be time consuming but it's worth knowing our families are starting out with the best stuff! In addition, we have placed puppies on the holidays only to learn our families couldn't get out for days to get what they needed. So, the first couple of times we brought everything, really the stuff a families needs, and nothing extra. We saved our families from stepping foot in a pet store, away from all the splurges of the stylish pet outfits (a puppy grows so fast), too many toys and not enough things like tooth brush & cleaning stuff, and away from the place that many dangerous puppy micro-preditors lurk....yes, things like parvo and many other long words that cause illness and even painful death. YIKES! So, that Robin Hood gene I have directs me to our local FEED BARN (or http://www.amazon.com) to keep the money flowing in our tiny county and support a store we want to see around for many, many years. By Sugar Pine Doodles shopping locally we stimulate jobs and tax dollars for our schools & services. Now, if you want to shop for your puppy stuff we simply offer the puppy for a smaller amount and don't mind one bit. It's what you want, not what we want! Yes, we have that philosophy that our families come first. You're welcome.  Our upgraded puppy package adds an additional 300 to our adoption investment and I usually spend around 330 to 350 so there is some savings by having us shop for you.  We do not charge for our time when providing this service.  We do need a couple of weeks notice for families that want the upgraded package and we can find additional items for our families too.  We've added things like car seat belt and raised car seat, puppy play pen, additional crates and bedding and many other things that our families aren't sure which to buy or where to find them.  We are here for you, to make the adoption process as smooth as possible so you can focus on your new baby.  Let us know if there is anything we can do, ahead of time, to help you on your adoption day.

Big, soft blanket with mom's scent

Your puppy will come with a blanket with Mom's scent.  Puppies do better with their transition to your home with some bedding that smells like home. We take pride in really saturating our blankets with Mom's scent. We plan months ahead of time and have Mom lay on her stack of fleece blankets to really get them Mommy-wonderful. Plus, right before your puppy hops in your car with you we rub Mom down once more with this blanket then send it on with you. You are encouraged to cut it in half and never wash it. When the blanket starts walking around and barking then you may want clean it....our blankets have been known to do this....lol.

Thorough examination with a licensed veterinarian

We have each puppy health tested by a licensed Veterinarian and you will get a copy or digital copy of the paperwork . If needed we provide additional paperwork to allow you to travel over state lines or out of the country with your puppy (please check travel rules as each state & country differs) and let us know you would like this 10 day health certificate. Now, we don't want our doodles in cargo areas but they are welcome to ride on an airplane under your seat and typically paperwork isn't needed for that type of travel except for proof of vaccinations; however, always check prior to travel and don't take our word for it. We recently flew a puppy to Texas and it was a 1000% positive experience, in flight, with Delta Airlines.  We've also have outstanding experiences with United Airlines.

Trupanion Pet Insurance

We provide our families with Trupanion Pet Insurance certificate that needs to be activated with in 24 hours of the puppies adoption.  This provides our families with coverage that goes into effect immediately.  Any new accidents or illnesses that occur in our puppies new home will be covered by Trupanion.  Terms and conditions do apply so please refer to www.trupanion.com for more details.

Two and eight year health guarantees

We provide a 2 or 8 year guarantee.  We do everything humanly possible to make sure you are getting a healthy pet. However, we also provide a health guarantee with each puppy. If a puppy was to get a life threatening genetic disease in the first two years we will provide you with another puppy. We have this written in great detail on our contract. It explains everything but essentially we want this the most positive experience for your family and we will make sure you have a great pet for many years to come. For our families that feed their doodle Life's Abundance Dog Food, LA Treats, LA Vitamins, and use Life's Abundance non-toxic-chemical household cleaners, and get Life's Abundance Pet Insurance for around 20-30 a month that has amazing coverage (like all your preventative appts, emergencies, etc) we provide up to an 8* year health guarantee. Yes, 8 years! We know our puppies are that healthy, if they receive proper care, top quality fresh food, and get regular vet care they will live 8 years minimum. We don't just claim good health we STAND behind it. What a concept, right? We provide all the details on our adoption & puppy care contract*.

Microchipping with pre-paid membership

We microchip each puppy and we are now pre-paying for your membership with the microchipping company.   Why microchip?  If your pet is ever lost it can be scanned and safely returned home even if the pets collar is missing. The microchip is placed under the pets skin and never comes out.  Over the last couple of months we stopped microchipping because I couldn't bare seeing our puppies in pain from the oversized needle.  As a result, our vet  encouraged us to direct our families to chip when their puppy was under anesthesia getting spayed or neutered.  Over this time frame I've been investigating all microchips to find the best one possible for our puppies.  Good news, I just found a chip that is 25% smaller and it's improved from typical microchip and the needle is smaller so we will once again be microchipping all our puppies! I'm now very happy with the new smaller chip and smaller needle.  Microchipping is essentially painless to the puppies now that we have a smaller needle.  Plus, we really need that identification for our health guarantee and to help you make sure you can always identify your pet. We have heard of tattoos instead of microchipping...ouch. Just know we are open to your requests and no question is silly to ask.

Sugar Pine Doodle's uses the new, smaller microchip needle on our doodles for their comfort and safety.

first round of vaccines

We do the first round of vaccines. We prefer to wait the day before your puppy goes home with you then you know three to four weeks out is your next appointment. Sometimes puppies will get their vaccinations at 7-8 weeks but our preference is to wait until the puppy is as old as possible. With that in mind, you will only need to have two more rounds done before the puppy will be safe to go to the park or for a walk through your neighborhood. Please know that until those vaccines are complete your puppy isn't safe in public places or playing with animals outside of your home.  Now, we aren't experts so we do look to the professionals for our vaccine Protocols.  We have found that we like the conservative recommendations of Dr. Jean Dodd's and I've included her vaccination schedule below.

We give all puppies Nobivac Puppy DPv (Distemper & Parvovirus) at or after 8 weeks of age.  The stickers, found on the vaccine given to your puppy, will be placed on a health record given to you on adoption day.  You will then bring this health record to your veterinarian who will recommend further vaccinations and preventative treatments for your area.  Now, we do have our opinions but we aren't licensed veterinarians and we prefer to leave the important stuff like that to them; however, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be an active participant, asking questions, doing your homework, and questioning each and every pharmaceutical item given to your new family member.  If your veterinarian doesn't want to explain why they are giving things to your pet and they don't know the side effects then you may want to get a second opinion or consult our vet.  We are here to support you on these things and we are always just a phone call away.  This type of support will be provided to you and your family for the entire life of your doodle.  :)

3 day deworming

We deworm & provide addition preventative medication for your puppy. When you pick up your puppy we've  dewormed and we will give you medication at that time to ensure your puppy adjusts well to their new environment. That move away from Mom and their litter mates can be really stressful and that stress can challenge a small puppies immune system so we want to prevent any issues ahead of time.  You will receive a box of Panacur® C Canine Dewormer to give to your puppy as directed on the box for three consecutive days.

Panacur® C Canine Dewormer treats and controls roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis) and tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis) in dogs and puppies 6 weeks of age and older. Contains 22.2% Fenbendazole in each dosage unit. Easy-to-feed granule form. Safe for pregnant dams.

On adoption day, it's so exciting for your puppy to finally come home with you.  You've been counting down the days to bring him or her home.  On the other hand, your puppy has no idea they are about to be adopted and leave the only home they've ever known.  Your puppy has no idea how much they are going to love their new life with you.  How could they possibly understand how truly lucky they are?  With that in mind, there first week or so they will be adjusting to the new smells, new schedule, new sounds, and new family. During this time frame your puppy is vulnerable to pesky things popping up that were not an issue at our home.  Typically, most breeders know their puppies are vulnerable during this transition so they prophylactically treat their puppies with things like "Fishzole" which is Metronidazole,  an antibiotic sold for use with fish but it's the exact same antibiotic that is prescribed by veterinarians and doctors.  All your antibiotics, sold through your pharmacy can be purchased in the form of fish antibiotics.  It's one of those dirty secrets in the breeding world.  Well, maybe it's not a secret but when it was first told to me I had breeders telling me to order the biggest bottle and to just hand them out to all our puppies a couple of days prior to adoption.  The first thing I did was consult my veterinarian and ask him about this because I  was pretty certain that was dispensing medication without a prescription which was very unethical, as far as I was concerned.  My vet confirmed that this wasn't only unethical but it was illegal.  The reason being that this medication is toxic and should only be given when a puppy has a positive poop test and that usually doesn't happen when a puppy is with the breeder and instead things pop up when a puppy leaves the breeder and experiences the stress of their new environment.   Given all this information we prefer to support a strong immune system by giving additional probiotics supporting their digestive system.  We do not give antibiotics, unless we have a positive poop test or a diagnosis illness and our veterinarian has prescribed medication.  In fact, with all our poop tests we've never had a positive poop test but we have had puppies go home and then have a positive test.  In these cases we do guarantee our doodles and we will make payment to your vet if mediation is needed within the first 72 hours of your puppy coming home with you.  We live in the mountains with wild animals, chickens, and cats so our doodles are exposed to many things despite our artificial grass, regular disinfecting of all surfaces and lix-its on all our faucets.  In the past our doodles water bowls would get dirty the minute we sat them down so we recently installed lix-it's on all our faucets to stop any poop on the paws contamination in the water bowls. In addition, I purchases a microscope and supplies to test all areas to make sure no pests are lingering in spots I think are safe.  I'm using this opportunity to get my son excited about science.

Early crate  training

We begin crate training at 5 weeks. We have the puppies sleep in our temperature controlled master bedroom, despite how cramped it can get, at night to prepare them for a pleasant life with their new family. Our crate training begins with three or two puppies sharing a crate until the crying stops and then each puppy is separated into it's own crate. By 7 weeks the crying stops and the puppies learn that crying or whimpering isn't the best way to communicate with us. Plus, the puppies adjust to family members walking by their crates at all hours and only when the sun comes up do the puppies let us know it's morning time :). Please know, I'm a night owl and I walk past all the puppies at wee hours and they have all stopped barking and simply observe me walking by, that's if they even wake up. Our puppies learn their crate is their comfortable home and with their bedding changed & cleaned (twice a day initially for leaks) then as needed, with a thoughtful schedule, our puppies walk into their crate by command at 7 weeks. We keep our puppies on a schedule which makes for a really happy, stimulated puppy and happy breeders. We don't leave our puppies unattended for longer than a couple of hours and there is always someone home with them. Our puppies are socialized with my children, their friends, other dogs, our outdoor cats, our chickens, our neighbors, and many hands in their ears, mouths, and touching their paws. We clip their nails, give them baths, introduce them to a kiddie pool (only in the mild weathered months) and water play, and rinse their paws & butts many times. Each puppy is held, cuddled, and loved on regularly.  We also have crates available for 40.  We try to keep a supply of crates for families to decide last minute if they need one.  We used to just include crates but many families didn't want the one we used , already had one and it got confusing if we should discount if they didn't need one.  As a result, we felt it was fair to offer the crate for a small amount to those needing one and to always keeping them on hand for our last minute families needing one.

Meeting and staying connected to fellow Sugar Pine Doodle's families

We have a private Facebook Group for you to connect, brag, and socialize with all our past, present, and future doodle families. I have to admit, I go in our group and I just feel my heart growing from what our families are creating....it's a doodle support group. Plus, it's private....did you read that...private. You don't have to worry about prying eyes or social stockers. It's our cool, beautiful, loving families all in one place connecting, socializing, recommending, learning, bragging, and posting photos and videos of their doodles.

We offer an Upgraded Puppy Package:  For our new families, getting their first puppy or families that don't have all the puppy supplies, we offer an upgraded package that includes everything you need for a new puppy which can include delivery for an additional amount. (Like I said earlier, the investment is what most Australian Labradoodle breeders charge for a puppy. We also provide a crate and goody bag for our new puppy families. It contains reading material (we can email it, print it, put it on disc, & most is available on our site) containing valuable information on the proper care, training, grooming, pet emergencies, socialization, house training for puppies, as well as, our home number with permission to call us anytime day or night for emergencies. We provide a powder coated metal crate with two doors, a plush crate bed, a blanket with Mom's scent to comfort your new puppy. We provide a ten day supply of Life's Abundance puppy food that your puppy has been eating. If certain items are not available we will send them through Amazon or give a credit back. Our goal is to make sure you have all the things your puppy needs so your family starts out with less stress and we can keep you out of pet stores where so many puppy diseases are lingering.

We have references.  Many of our past litters live in the Bay Area including SF, SJ, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Cupertino, Danville, Black Hawk, Alamo, Hollister, Susanville, and Berkeley. Plus, Rio Vista, Brentwood, Antioch, Concord, Walnut Creek, Nevada City, Carmel, MontereyEl Dorado Hills, Beverly Hills, San Diego, Bakersfield, New York, Dallas-Texas, Redding, Auburn, and Lake Tahoe. Our families include Grocers, Sales People, Realtors, Attorneys, Doctors, Surgeons, Political Activists, Business Owners, Physical Therapists, Graphic Designers, Software Developers, Teachers, Robot Teachers, Retirees, Office Managers & Administrators, Nurses, a well known Celebrity, a professional Athlete, a Facebook designer, Yahoo Attorney, Microsoft Employee, President-Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, top Chevron executive, an amazing artist, a Human Resources Executive, a Pharmacist, an Escrow Company owner, a stay at home Mom & Police Officer with chickens, many home schooling families, a Coffee Bean Roasting company, a Surf-Shop Owner, Restaurant Owners, and most with children. Sorry if we left anyone out. Many of our families are training their pets to be service and therapy dogs, we have tons of families on to their second doodle with us.

We aren't breeding experts but luckily we've had support, love, and some emergency help from some great breeders in Brentwood, Sacramento, Souther California, Canada and from the Mid West, over the years, to get us where we are today. We want to thank those breeders from the bottom of our hearts. With that in mind, we are an independent breeder that isn't affiliated with any other breeder. Sugar Pine Doodles is constantly evolving and improving our systems from experience. In the beginning we followed what other breeders were doing. However, we realized quickly that we had our own style and methods that fit our lifestyle and vision for breeding. This is why we offer a package that includes everything (for additional amount), we crate train and go through the whining nights to spare our families, we start house training early on, we allow families to visit our home, we allow families to select their puppy, and we work diligently to ensure our families have the most positive experience with their new puppy. We enjoy every step of the process, especially meeting our new families, staying connected, seeing pictures regularly, and making this more about the puppies and less about the business of breeding. With very few litters a year and litters being shared with our guardian homes and close family members we trust and love, we can put that time and energy into each litter because we aren't placing puppies every month.

We love and appreciate your social media "likes" and "follows"

Did I mention how much we love your likes and follows.  I'd say we are like teenager girls on Friday night going to a school dance when we get likes and follows.  We are small time so when we see almost 1300 likes on Facebook we are humbled and so motivated to post even more photos and videos of our doodles.  We are kinda like our doodles, a little bit of rewards and positive reinforcement goes a long, long ways.

Pinterest:  https://www.pinterest.com/jeanninesc/sugar-pine-doodleslove-my-doodles/  This is my Sugar Pine Doodles board that has many different types of pins.  What happens is I start pinning things then I realize I'm pinning a lot of, let's say dog collars.  Well, I will then need to start a dog collar board but I never go back and move those previous dog collar pins.  Such is life on social media.

Check out "OTIS" a puppy from our past litter on www.facebook.com/Good.Boy.Otis (Otis went to Blaise a designer for Facebook) Please give him a like if you think he is cute.

Many of our puppies are becoming social media stars...seriously, they have learned to type and write amazing stories on their facebook pages. Did I mention that our Doodles are completely amazing and undeniably, absolutely perfect?

Just a tiny bit more about me

I am a photographer.  I teach for my county recreation program and I do private lessons but I hate to say pro-photographer. In all fairness, I am a professional photographer so that's why our photos show the true beauty in our doodles.  In fact, I have dedicated years to getting better at my craft so when you look at a photo of my darling, precious, yummy newborn puppies you feel like you are holding them in your arms.  Next, I'm an active artist with a daughter that snags all my paintings...so I'm going to start hiding them from her when she comes home from college.  (Let's see if she really read Mom's new site like I asked her to do, lol).  Indeed, I'm a mother of two biological children but I've taken so many more under my wings, to help them learn to thrive, and to help them see their potential in this world.  Equally important, I'm a dog lover and I love all dogs and I feel like I can see the person deep inside of each dog and I've never met a dog I don't like.  Furthermore, I'm a goal setter that is constantly adding goals to my ever growing list.  Yet, I don't beat myself up if I can't do it all but I will try.  Yes, I've had people say that I'm all over the board but I'm not perfect and this is me, take it or leave it, no one has to be my friend or like how I am.  Nonetheless, I do live with chronic health issues and most of the time I'm in terrible pain so my doodles help me so much in dealing with it and it does affect how I live and what I do.  When I've been doing days of photography and my bones ache I will stop and do something else so it looks like I have tons of hobbies but in all reality I just need to approach life from a new project.  In sum, I'm widowed and I cherish everyday I'm alive because I know the alternative.  Now, I've always had an intense level of desire to continue learning.  I've taught myself how to build this site and most of my recent education has been self driven.  Luckily, my doodles enjoy studying and doing projects with me.  They are wonderful subjects allowing me to hone in on my grooming skills, my training skills, my photography skills and the list goes on.  They have supported me through the grieving process because I genuinely feel that you never fully recover from losing a person you love.  They have allowed me to live vicariously through them being their mid-wife, enjoying their babies when I could no longer have any of my own, and nurturing life with my daughter and helping her discover her life long dream of becoming a nurse.  Most importantly, I know having puppies and doodles in our home has helped my children tremendously in dealing with losing their biological father.  I have to say we are now a real family again with their new Dad and our doodles, we are so blessed on so many levels.  Next, I deal with my child's terrible food allergies and heart condition that has challenged my ability to deal with stress and daily I'm learning ways to cope with my fears.  Recently, I learned that fear is more contagious than the common cold and that I learned from one of my professional families so I'm getting my fears in check.  Without a doubt, I'm incredibly loyal to those that have helped me throughout my life and I feel this way about my families.  Once a family has adopted one of our doodles I feel like they are my family.  It's a little possessive, I know, I'm not perfect and I'm a little possessive with people I love.  At least I can admit it.  Indeed, I wanted more children, but couldn't so breeding Australian Labradoodles has filled my life with so many wonderful things that we would be here all day and night for the next month if I tried to tell them all to you.  Now, I started this paragraph to discuss my photography and look where it goes...so back on track....When it comes to my photography, I really got more serious when I wanted to take better pictures of my doodles....3 years later I'm halfway done getting my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography at the Academy of Art University in San Fran, CA. I must add, I did have previous training in photograph in elective classes 20 years ago while finishing my first Bachelors. Those were the days!  Film, chemicals, and hours in a dark room. I sure love digital seeing right away if my photo is clear or not :)  I also love to draw and paint my doodles.  Below is a drawing of one of our doodles.  I will be doing more drawing and painting of my doodles and I promise to share them all!

Sugar Pine Doodles is now Skyping!!  Sometimes, we even accidentally butt dial people and they get to hear our conversations while we have no idea we dialed them.  That is always fun...lol.  If you want a live tour of Sugar Pine Doodles using Skype, while speaking to us, and viewing our expansive doodle resort..lol...it's easy, we can can carry around our laptop and show you all of it.  Seriously, it's not fancy nor is it some huge compound.  It's very doodle and kid focused, loaded with tons of ongoing projects and things we keep adding to our home improvement list.  If only I could just stay off of Pinterest.  I've been known to say, "Honey, I saw it done on Pinterest, so it can be done!"  They are building dam boats out of 2 litter soda bottles so hello, he can make me my doodle park, already.  No really, thank goodness I found the sweetest man ever that tolerates all my excessive honey do lists.  Luckily, he sits me down and explains why it can't be done and I nod my head and we snuggle up and watch a movie with our aging bodies and we dream of our recycled, plastic soda bottle yacht.

Yes, we aren't around the corner, we are where most drive hours to vacation. Doodles love it here...that's one of the main reasons our doodles are so special, and when you breed and have many dogs it's only fair for them to have extra fresh air, clean mountain water, lots of running space, and a vacation kinda life!

We look forward to meeting you and hopefully you will become part of our doodle family and if you have a doodle already and you need support we will always help you too.

Big Hugs,

Sugar Pine Doodles :)

PS: I'm working on a doodle book for kids!! Hopefully, it will officially start once I finish this site.  My goal is to do all the artwork myself.  By telling you this goal it will help me feel extra motivation to complete it sooner rather than later.
